It all started because of a need to be doing something with my hands while reading textbooks. They’re pretty dry on their own, so what better way to quell my twitchiness than a simple garter stitch?
That was 8 years ago. And I can tell you now that I do not recommend knitting while reading textbooks–I didn’t absorb a thing. But I did gain a love of knitting. I knit scarf, after scarf, after…well, yes, it got boring after a while, but bigger projects were just that, big.
So what did I do? I turned to making jewelry instead. And then I made earring, after earring, after…yes, that got boring, too.
I knew I needed something more, which is when I discovered a whole other world of creativity. Knitting adorable tiny things. Wirework jewelry. Experimental baking. And I got so excited about the things I was making that I wanted to share them, so others could get excited too.
As Ms. Frizzle would say, “It’s time to take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!”
